About Encompass Farming
2017: Husband and Wife met. We started business, exchanged labor for land use, 25 laying hens, 500 meat chickens, We both worked full-time.
-2018: Rented house with land, 150 hens, 1000 meat chickens, raised 15 grass fed pigs, we both worked full time, we got engaged.
-2019: 1000 hens, 2000 meat chickens. Husband full time farm, wife full time work.
-2020: We got married at the courthouse - no money, no time. We barely bought land with 0 down, husband started building our house, Wife worked part-time, 1500 hens, hen breeding flock started, 7 goats, still rented the house and land we lived in. 1-2 part-time employees.
-2021: Finished building the house late summer, moved in, moved the whole farm, 1500 hens, breeding flock expanded, 15 goats. Wife full time farm. 1-2 part-time employees
-2022: Microgreens, 1500 hens, 25 goats, Encompass Oil idea in June, Started selling in November, Wife pregnant end of year, 2 dairy goats added, 1-2 part-time employees
-2023: Stopped microgreens, focused more on Encompass Oil, 4 employees working in our living room monday - friday, Husband built separate work room for oil late summer, Child was born, 1000 chickens, 40 goats
-2024: Encompass Oil main focus, 6 employees total for farm and Oil, taking a temporary break from growing the farm, reduced goats from 60 to 15, reduced chickens from 1500 to an 80 bird personal flock, built a much needed barn in the spring
